Why whey isolate?

Whey isolate is whey protein powder with a protein content of 90% or more. This means that 90% or more of the powder really only consists of protein. Many protein powders are filtered to a protein content of around 80%, but with whey isolate an extra filtration has taken place to further strip the protein powder of anything that is not protein. That means that even more fat and carbohydrates have been filtered out. This extra step is expensive and that is why our whey isolate is a bit more expensive than the pure whey (80% protein).

Adequate protein intake offers numerous health benefits. There are many different types of proteins with different functional properties. For example, proteins extracted from whey (the famous "whey protein") are popular among athletes because they support the repair and maintenance of muscle tissue. But why is this specifically the case with whey protein? Click here to read more about different proteins and their health benefits.

What is the difference between whey and whey isolate?

The difference between whey and whey isolate has already been explained a little bit above. Many people think that the whey isolate absorbs faster than "normal" "whey. This indirectly claims that it is a different type of protein with different absorption properties. This is not the case. The difference between whey and whey isolate is purely in the purity. When you take a whey isolate shake you get more protein and less fats and carbohydrates than when you take a whey shake. The question is whether you are willing to pay the additional price for this.

Regarding the taste experience, there is no noticeable difference between the whey and whey isolate. What you might notice a little bit is that the whey is slightly fuller than the whey isolate. This is simply because more fats are filtered out with the whey isolate, which ensures the full texture.

In this article, the differences between the protein types are clearly explained.

Protein shake for weight loss

Whey isolate is the most popular protein shake for people who are consciously involved in weight management or who are engaged in losing weight. This is of course due to the high protein content and low-fat content. When you are losing weight, it is essential that your body does get enough protein but not too many fats and carbohydrates. Unfortunately, many products rich in protein also contain a fair amount of fat and carbohydrates. When you drink our whey isolate shake, you instantly consume almost 28 grams of protein and only 0.1 grams of fat. This ratio can hardly be found in any meal.

Benefits of whey isolate

  1. We produce and process our whey isolate ourselves at our own production location in the Netherlands, which means that the product meets all the strict quality requirements that are characteristic of the Dutch dairy industry. In this way we can keep and monitor the quality of the protein powder constant.

  1. Whey isolate protein powder dissolves extremely well. No lumps or other crazy substances in your mouth while drinking your protein shake.

  1. The product has a high leucine content. This is a BCAA (branched amino acid chain) that plays a primary role in muscle protein synthesis and promotes muscle recovery.

  1. Prepare for a delicious creamy protein shake. In contrast to the vegetable protein powders, which are often more intense in terms of taste, our whey isolate is neutral and super good to flavor with our different flavor shots.

  1. A protein shake with a protein content of over 90% and virtually no fat and carbohydrates. A perfect protein powder for weight loss.
