Why whey isolate?

Whey isolate is whey protein powder with a protein content of 90% or more. This means that 90% or more of the powder really only consists of protein. Many protein powders are filtered to a protein content of around 80%, but with whey isolate an extra filtration has taken place to further strip the protein powder of anything that is not protein. That means that even more fat and carbohydrates have been filtered out. This extra step is expensive and that is why our whey isolate is a bit more expensive than the pure whey (80% protein).

What is the difference between whey and whey isolate?

Purity

The difference between whey and whey isolate has already been explained a little bit above. Many people think that the whey isolate absorbs faster than "normal" "whey. This indirectly claims that it is a different type of protein with different absorption properties. This is not the case. The difference between whey and whey isolate is purely in the purity. When you take a whey isolate shake you get more protein and less fats and carbohydrates than when you take a whey shake. The question is whether you are willing to pay the additional price for this.

Taste

Regarding the taste experience, there is no noticeable difference between the whey and whey isolate. What you might notice a little bit is that the whey is slightly fuller than the whey isolate. This is simply because more fats are filtered out with the whey isolate, which ensures the full texture.
